Alexander Announces Policy Directors for Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee

WASHINGTON, December 4 — Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee Chairman Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) today announced he has named three new majority staff policy directors.

Grace Stuntz will serve as Health Policy Director, Bob Moran will serve as Education Policy Director, and Andy Banducci will serve as Labor and Pensions Policy Director.

“We are fortunate this talented group of individuals is working to help tackle some of the most important issues facing Americans today: addressing the opioid abuse crisis, making it easier to go to college, and ensuring our labor policies are helping American workers find good jobs,” Alexander said. “Senator Ted Kennedy, who served for many years as the chairman of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee, once said that the committee had 30 percent of the legislative jurisdiction of the Senate, and we’ve got critical work ahead of us this Congress.”

GRACE STUNTZ

Grace Stuntz previously served as Deputy Health Policy Director and Senior Food and Drug Administration Policy Advisor for the HELP Committee. She has worked on the committee since 2011, previously working for Ranking Member Mike Enzi, focusing on FDA policy, including the FDA Reauthorization Act, 21st Century Cures Act, and Drug Quality and Security Act. She received her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering and Master of Public Policy (MPP) from the University of Virginia. 

BOB MORAN

Bob Moran previously served as Deputy Policy Director for Education for the committee, focusing on higher education policy with a specialty in financial aid policy.  Prior to joining the committee, he was Director of Federal Relations and Policy Analysis at the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU). He has served as a Policy Analyst for the U.S. Under Secretary of Education, and an aide to two Pennsylvania members of the House of Representatives, one of whom was a conferee to the 1998 reauthorization of the Higher Education Act. He is a father to three girls.

ANDY BANDUCCI

Andy Banducci previously served as Workforce Policy Counsel for the majority staff of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce. In that capacity, he advised Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC) and other members on the Committee's workforce-related agenda, including employee benefits, labor-management relations, labor standards, and workplace safety. A native of northwestern Pennsylvania, Andy graduated from Penn State and the University of Michigan Law School.  He practiced law prior to joining the House committee's staff in 2011.
