Alexander Meets with HHS Secretary Nominee Rep. Tom Price

WASHINGTON, D.C., December 8, 2016 – U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) released the following statement after meeting this afternoon with nominee for Health and Human Services Secretary Rep. Tom Price:

“I spent an hour with Dr. Tom Price this afternoon and was greatly impressed with his understanding of the need to begin immediately to repeal Obamacare and reform the nation’s health care system but to do it in a thoughtful, careful way that gives Americans more choices of low-cost insurance. He especially understands the importance of dealing with the Obamacare emergency in the individual market during a period of transition so that Americans have as many choices as possible.”

The Senate health committee, which Alexander chairs, will hold a hearing on Price’s nomination in January.
