Enzi Pleased With Tenative Agreement on Global AIDS Relief Program Says Deal Will Improve Focus on Care, Treatment of Individuals with HIV/AIDS

Washington D.C. – U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-WY, Ranking Member of theSenate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee (HELP Committee), todayissued the following statement on the tentative agreement to renew the President’sEmergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR): “The tentative agreement we have reached on the global AIDS relief programensures that we can focus our efforts on providing care and treatment to those withHIV/AIDS,” Enzi said. “I’m pleased we have reached a meeting of the minds to renewthis critical program and combat HIV/AIDS in poor countries.
