In Light of Court Ruling, Murray Pushes for Quick Vote on Murray-Alexander Bill to Lower Patients’ Health Care Costs, Stabilize Markets

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), Ranking Member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, issued the following statement on today’s court ruling rejecting a temporary stay that would have required the Trump Administration to resume out-of-pocket cost reduction payments.

“The law is very clear that the Administration is required to make out-of-pocket cost reduction payments, and today’s ruling only makes it more critical that the Senate take up and pass the agreement Chairman Alexander and I reached, which has the support of 60-plus Senators, to ensure that President Trump executes this part of the law as Congress intended and to protect patients from paying the price for his sabotage.”
