(Washington, D.C.) – Today, Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee Ranking Member Patty Murray (D-WA) released the following statement on the Republican resolution of disapproval regarding the National Labor Relations Board’s new representation rule.
“This updated rule takes an important step toward facilitating fair labor elections and helping workers get a seat at the table to fight for increased wages and economic security, free from unnecessary delays and wasteful stall tactics. By fighting back against these common sense reforms that would reduce needless litigation and modernize the election process, Republicans are making it clear that they are more interested in putting the profits of the biggest corporations ahead of the rights and opportunities of middle class workers. Instead of trying to turn back the clock on workers across the country, Republicans should join us in making sure our economy is working for all families, not just the wealthiest few.”
