Trump Administration proposal would let legacy health care plans increase patients’ health care costs
Senator Murray: “This is no time to leave patients with higher health care bills they can’t afford, and yet every move from President Trump makes clear that’s the cornerstone of his health care agenda.”
(Washington, D.C.) – Today, U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), ranking member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, released the following statement in response to a new proposal from the Trump Administration that would allow legacy health care plans to raise patients’ out-of-pocket costs.
“This is yet another way President Trump is putting profits first and letting companies raise families’ health care costs. Regardless of what the President wants to believe, we’re in the middle of a pandemic that is devastating families’ health and finances. This is no time to leave patients with higher health care bills they can’t afford, and yet every move from President Trump makes clear that’s the cornerstone of his health care agenda.”
