Murray Statement on Implementation of Fair Pay Executive Order to Protect Worker Rights

(Washington, D.C.) – Today, Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee Ranking Member Patty Murray (D-WA) released the following statement on the Department of Labor’s release of guidance on implementing the Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces Executive Order

“We should be doing everything we can to ensure workers are safe and treated fairly on the job, so I’m pleased that the administration is moving forward with guidance to implement the Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces Executive Order,” said Senator Murray. “Millions of workers are employed by federal contractors, and I’m proud to support this rule that will help level the playing field for law-abiding businesses and protect basic worker rights.”

Earlier this year, Murray led 19 Senate Democrats in urging the Department to implement the order to protect worker rights.
