Murray Statement on Latest Effort by Trump Administration to Block Unaccompanied Minors from Exercising Constitutionally Protected Rights

Trump Administration continues to make clear it will go to any lengths to force its extreme policies on women across our country”

(Washington, D.C.) – Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), Ranking Member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, issued the following statement in response to the Trump Administration filing an appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court in the case of Jane Doe. More HERE.

“At its core, this is about powerful men targeting young, vulnerable women, and trying to control their health care choices and decide their futures,” said Senator Murray. “By filing this appeal, the Trump Administration continues to make clear it will go to any lengths to force its extreme policies on women across our country. The Trump Administration may have thought no one was watching in the case of Jane Doe, that it is better equipped to make women’s health care decisions than women and that it knows better than our constitution, but they should know they are wrong—and we will keep fighting for justice for women everywhere just as hard as they are working to deny women health care and undermine their rights.”
