NEXT WEEK: Cassidy to Host Roundtable on Innovation in K-12 Education, Enhancing Student Achievement


WASHINGTON – On Tuesday, September 10, U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA), ranking member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, will host a roundtable to discuss ways to innovate within K-12 education to improve student success. Specifically, the roundtable will include panelists from around the country who will speak to the innovative strategies they use to help children succeed in the classroom and beyond. 

This roundtable comes as student achievement continues to decline in K-12 schools nationwide. According to the 2022 National Assessment of Educational Progress, two-thirds of fourth and eighth graders are unable to read proficiently. Additionally, almost two-thirds of fourth graders and three-quarters of eighth graders are below proficient in math. 

The panelists will include:
