(Washington, D.C.) – Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), Ranking Member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, today issued the following statement on press reports that HHS Secretary Tom Price’s medical stock trades may be under investigation by the U.S. Attorney in New York:
“These reports raise troubling questions about whether an investigation into Secretary Tom Price’s medical stock trades may be related to the abrupt firing of the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York,” said Senator Murray. “Senate Democrats have long called for an investigation into the serious questions that need to be answered about these stock trades and the kind of information Secretary Price had when these trades were made during his time in the House of Representatives. More than ever, Congress and the public deserve a thorough, independent investigation into these matters, and I intend to do everything I can to ensure that happens.”
