Chair Cassidy on Senate Vote to Confirm Keith Sonderling as Deputy Secretary of Labor

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA), chair of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, released a statement after the U.S. Senate voted to confirm Keith Sonderling to be Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Labor by a final vote of 53 to 46. The HELP Committee previously approved his nomination by a vote of 12 to 11.

“Deputy Secretary Sonderling’s expertise and experience implementing labor policy make him more than qualified for this role,” said Dr. Cassidy. “I look forward to working with him and Secretary Chavez-DeRemer to enact a pro-worker agenda at the Department of Labor.”
