Chair Cassidy on Senate Vote to Confirm Lori Chavez-DeRemer as Secretary of Labor

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA), chair of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, released a statement after the U.S. Senate voted to confirm Lori Chavez-DeRemer as Secretary of the U.S. Department of Labor by a final vote of 67 to 32. The HELP Committee previously approved her nomination by a bipartisan vote of 14 to 9.

“The Biden administration used its authority as a weapon against workers, threatening their ability to earn a living and provide for their families. With President Trump back in office, we have an opportunity to enact a pro-America agenda at the Department of Labor that puts workers first,” said Dr. Cassidy. “Secretary Chavez-DeRemer is committed to this mission and ready to work with the HELP Committee to secure a better future for all workers.”
