WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA), chair of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, released a statement after the U.S. Senate voted to confirm Dr. Martin Makary to be Commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration by a final vote of XX to XX. The HELP Committee previously approved his nomination by a vote of 14 to 9.
“Dr. Makary’s medical background and strong vision make him more than qualified to lead the FDA,” said Dr. Cassidy. “I look forward to working with him to achieve President Trump’s objective of Making America Healthy Again.”
